Forgiveness, Love, and Alcohol
*** Cathy, I can’t post my spoken word poems on here cause then people will see them haha***
I’m trying to memorize three verses…
Deuteronomy 6:5
And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
Matthew 6:14,15
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
I find it most interesting that these verses are commands to do things that people think are based off of emotions.
We believe that we feel forgiveness or feel love. This is one of the biggest fallacies that hinders relationships nowadays. Typically, we don’t forgive someone because we don’t feel it, we don’t think they deserve it, or we are not ready. But forgiveness is not optional, it’s mandatory. Jesus demands that we forgive others. But how can you force yourself to feel something? You can’t. That must mean that forgiveness isn’t a feeling but a choice. It is not condoning or excusing but choosing to let go out those harsh feelings toward that person.
The same goes for love. Love is a choice. If it wasn’t, it would be unfair for God to demand us to love Him and others because our love would be based on our current state.
So, choose to love and forgive, because your choices can cost you.

I’m supposed to incorporate the Dictionary.com Word of the Day in here but I don’t know how. The word is DIPSOMANIA. I’ll just start a new topic. I’ll make it short and sweet.
I used to have a group of friends at school that had a strong dipsomania. I would listen to their conversations about partying and stuff and I could see how highly treasured alcohol was to them. They would talk about the weekends and how they plan on getting wasted and stupid. And if there were no parties, then their weekend would suck. It’s like they lived binging and purging. If you ask me, that’s a horrible way to live. They don’t know fun without ethanol pumping through their veins and blocking synapses in their brains. It’s a sad existence for them.
